The owner, Sarah, staffed the shop mostly on her own but was also regularly joined by many of the artisan business owners, which added to the creative experience customers could enjoy.
The aim has always been to blend creative and unique handmade designs with gorgeous finds and brands from around the world. The result is eclectic, from beautiful brands such as Wrendale Designs to official Harry Potter merchandise. Our walls are full of almost everything.
We closed our King Street location on the 30th March 2019 with now 40 businesses within the walls. The decision was made to allow us to expand as we had a growing waiting list of new artisans wishing to join what we had created.
Now having taken on new premises in Sudbury town centre, this time on Gaol Lane and with two additional self contained pop-up units available to hire, Duck in Boots is able to provide even more opportunities to support independent businesses. You can read more about our flexible hire units here.
Our workshops are also moving into the community, and will include Italian cooking with an expert chef, crochet, glass painting, gin experiences, quilting, cake artistry with an award winning baker and cake artist, needle felting, jewellery making, macramé and many more.
Although the global pandemic has interrupted our plans to take on a singular larger premises, we have reinvented our approach to hopefully ensure our survival in these uncertain economic times and we hope to support other businesses through this difficult time too.
Duck in Boots is also mobile and can be booked for creative workshops, parties and shopping experiences in locations across Suffolk, Essex and Hertfordshire. You can now also shop our growing range and independent businesses, right here online.
